Hari Tahil presents:
Nonviolent Communication
- Speaking from the Heart
Nonviolent
communication (NVC) is a way of expressing one's feelings in a clear
and responsible manner, and then being able to ask for what one wants.
It’s also a method of understanding
what others want when they are communicating in ways that are unclear
or ‘difficult’.
NVC is not about getting what you want, or tricking or dominating
others through verbal skills. Rather, it is about everybody being understood
and from there, true communication taking place.
The underlying concepts of NVC are simple and easy to learn,
though like anything else, putting them into action takes practice.
The presentation at the Circle of Light will introduce the
basics of NVC, and through a series of exercises, participants will
have an opportunity to understand experientially what NVC is and how
to use it.
The practical applications of NVC are unlimited, though parents,
children (of all ages), employees, employers, husbands and wives, and
therapists will immediately recognize the value.
