What is BMAC?

Behavioral Management for Autistic Children (BMAC) Inc. is a nonprofit organization that utilizes Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) as treatment for children diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) and Autism.

It is a unique and individualized Early Intervention Home-Based Program geared toward teaching appropriate social behaviors while reducing or eliminating inappropriate ones. The program is designed to address the specific needs of the child. To ensure learning success, skills and concepts – from relatively simple ones such as spontaneous communication and social interaction – are task analyzed or broken down into smaller, more manageable ones, in a method known as discrete trials training.

BMAC believes that learning should be a positive experience. Teachers and therapists, together with parents and caregivers, all play an important role in the overall development of the child.

The home-based program, guided by highly trained therapists from BMAC, allows the parents and the whole family to be involved with the child’s program. Seminars for parents are conducted to broaden their understanding of autism and it’s associated conditions. Training and lectures to caregivers are also given to warrant consistency in the structure and implementation of the program.
